The Haydn String Trio was founded in the summer of 2016 by the three friends, Echo Klassik Award winner Yury Revich (violin), Wolfgang Wölfer (viola) and Orfeo Mandozzi (violoncello). It is named after Joseph Haydn who is not just considered the father of the string quartet, but also composed the first known string trio in 1765.
Global Music Awards honour album "The Blue Road"

On September 20th the Global Music Awards have announced their nine Gold Medal finalists. Amongst the winners is Snow Owl’s latest CD production “The Blue Road”. The album received two golden medals in the categories of “World Jazz” and “Best Album”.

The Quartetto di Cremona released their new CD!
The Quartetto di Cremona just released their new CD Beethoven Vol. VI Complete String Quartets on July 23rd, you can have a little "pre-listen" here at audite.de.
The Quartet, consisting of violinists Cristiano Gualco and Paolo Andreoli, violist Simone Gramaglia and cellist Giovanni Scaglione, will continue their tour across Europe in late August. You can find the dates here.
Ray Chen has raised $80.000 for an under-resourced afterschool music program
Ray Chen is a true "Musical Hero": Through the online platform Generosity and a benefit concert in Philadelphia, Ray Chen raised almost $80.000 for his first "Musical Heroes" Charity Project. Amazingly, he reached almost four times his original target of $20.000. "Play on, Philly", an after-school music programm from instrumental teacher Stanford Thomson, serving more than 300 underprivileged schoolkids in the Philadelphia area, will receive the money.
New Peter Brendler CD 'Message in Motion' out July 15th
Thomastik-Infeld endorsed artist Peter Brendler releases his new CD Message in Motion on Friday, July 15th. The album picks up where "Outside the Line" left off and contains seven new original compositions as well as covers of compostions by Duke Ellington, Alice Coltrane and Elliott Smith. It features Rich Perry, Peter Evans, Vinnie Sperrazza and special guest, Ben Monder.
The cd release concert is going to be held at the Cornelia Street Café in New York City on July 16th.
Violinist Robert Lakatos is now official member of the Thomastik-Infeld family
Serbian violinist Robert Lakatos has signed an endorsement contract with Thomastik-Infeld. He has been playing Peter Infeld and Vision Solo for many years and we are excited that he is now part of our Thomastik family.
Robert Lakatos is currently studing with Thomastik-Infeld endorsed artist Julian Rachlin at Konservatorium Wien.
Dieter Ilg named "Instrumentalist of the Year National Bass"
The German Phono-Academy announced the winners of this years ECHO Jazz on April 19th. We are very happy to congratulate German double bass player Dieter Ilg for being named "Instrumentalist of the Year National Double Bass/Bass Guitar". After winning the award in 2011 and 2014 for "Othello" and "Parsifal", he was now honored for "Mein Beethoven".
Dieter Ilg plays Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore strings and has been a Thomastik-Infeld endorsed artist since 2007.
New Janoska Ensemble CD out now!
The Janoska Ensemble, consisting of the brothers Frantisek, Roman and Ondrej Janoska and their cousin-in-law Julius Darvas, released their brand new CD in Austria on April 8th (international release May 6th). They performed an amazing show on April 13th at the Wiener Konzerthaus where they presented their new album.
They are on tour in Europe and South Korea in the next months, you can find their schedule here and should definitely go see them when you have the chance.
Ödön Racz, Solobassist of the Vienna Philharmonics, presents his first solo CD
Together with the Franz Lizst Chamber Orchestra Ödön Racz plays concerts from Dittershof, Vanhal, and Bottesini on his double bass from Micheal Ignatius Stadlmann from the year 1781. For him, our Belcanto strings stand for quality, high standard and a warm and delicate tone and we are proud that they have been his strings of choice for 5 years.
