Mijo Kovacic is one of the leading figures of naive painting in our time - a dramatic chronicler of our tragic century on the eve to the third millenium. The artist has taken us through the Dante-esque circles of this inferno. Protected by the wisdom and experience of the artistīs faitfulness to the earth and its primieval postulates, he has acted as attorney to the defense of our humanity at the trial of the twentieth century. The artist himself was present at the exhibition, which showed the most important paintings of this unusually productive artist. The exhibition was also the presentation of the book about Mijo Kovacic written by Croatian art expert Josip Depolo and Peter Infeld. Addressing the audience both Peter Infeld and Mijo Kovacic pointed out their deep emotional connections which already lasts for decades. The book is In memorial of Margarethe Infeld. |
