A trip to Havana

Kent Denver School travels to Cuba

Twenty three students and three faculty from Kent Denver School traveled to Havana, Cuba, March 14-20. Well known NYC-based jazz saxophonist Javon Jackson also joined the group. During the stay they were able to meet, attend performances, and play with students from the four major music conservatories in Havana; Amadeo Roldan, La EMA, Guillermo Tomas, and Manuel Saumell.

Early on in their trip planning, they decided that they would like to collect instruments and music supplies to take with them and donate to the Cuban music students.
Thomastik-Infeld Vienna was approached by Mr. Holley from Kent Denver School and didn't hesitate to support the students in Cuba with strings.
We are proud and happy to be a part of this wonderful project!
