How does my string change with different winding materials?

By using different winding materials, the diameter, bow response, bow noise, left-hand feeling/sliding feel, sound, volume and corrosion resistance can be adjusted.

Here is an overview of the different winding materials and their effects:

WINDING DIAMETER BOW RESPONSE BOW NOISE SLIDING FEEL SOUND VOLUME CORROSION RESISTANCE BRILLIANCE FLATTENING EFFECT
ALUMINUM greater better stronger average more brilliant average lower higher lower
SILVER smaller average average increased average lower average average average
CHROMIUM STEEL average inferior lower reduced darker louder higher lower higher

Between your instrument, bow, strings and rosin, what do you think is most important to get the most out of your performance?
