How are strings packaged and is this important?

String packaging is an important subject and a science in its own right. Strings not only react to climatic changes, temperature, air humidity and perspiration, but also to other materials, with which they come into contact. This means that the packaging material at Thomastik-Infeld has to satisfy extensive guidelines regarding pH value, sulfur and chlorine content in the paper and the use of a variety of synthetics in order to guarantee the outstanding product quality.

Our strings are packaged both lengthways in tubes and rolled in envelopes. The content of both is always identical and there is no difference in sound or quality.
